Intensive Russian Strikes Disrupt Electricity Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced problems to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen rockets targeted energy facilities, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes struck power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured intense attacks throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes succeed periods of bombing campaigns in the area, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to spot.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
